Indicators and information we can give:
- Number of publications from a unit (for example research group, university, country)
- Number of publications from a unit in top ranked journals
- Number of citations for a unit
- Number of citations per publication for a unit
- Top 5% on a journals basis for a unit (for a definition sene separate page)
- CWTS journal normalized citation score (for a definition see separate page)
- KIs journal normalized citation score (for a definition see separate page)
- H-index (for a definition see separate page)
- Uncitedness for a unit
- Number of self citations from a unit
- Co-authorships between units, so called co-publication patterns
- Citations between units
Some examples on applications:
- Support when considering where to publish an article in subject x
- Showing strong research areas for a unit (for example research group, university, country)
- Create a basis for comparisons between qualified scientists
- If foreign research groups papers in subject x are more often cited than LiU-papers
- To what extent all medical research literature can be found in electronic form via the university library
- If large universities are more often cited than small ones
- Create a basis for comparisons between research result's impact in subject x for universities in Sweden
- Showing what countries LiU cooperates most frequently with, and which cooperations that give best impact
- Showing which the most productive journals in subject x are
- Showing which the most productive units in subject x are
