The normal loan period for books is 21 days. However, if someone else places a request on the book the loan period is shorter, seven days. Loans can be renewed ten times. Renew your books by logging in to My loans. Books can't be renewed if someone has placed a request on the book. You can return loans to any LiU library in Linköping and Norrköping. There are self-return machines located near the entrance in each library. When the loan period has ended you will receive an e-mail from the library suggesting that you either renew or return the loan. If you fail to do this you are charged a fee. More information can be found in the Rules and Regulations.
If a book is checked out it is possible to put a hold on it by making a reservation. To do this click “Place hold” in the library catalogue. When the book is available to collect, an e-mail is sent. Books are available on the pick-up shelf for four days.
We also send books that are available between our libraries. If you want a book to be sent click “place hold” in the catalogue and choose the library that you want to collect it at. Books are sent between the libraries every weekday.
It is now also possible to request the library’s books directly in LIBRIS, the joint catalog for research libraries in Sweden. Interlibrary loan requests are made via the interlibrary loan form:
