Computers and IT
If you are a student, employee or a registered library user, you can login to and use the library's computers.
Most of the computers have the Microsoft Office suite installed (computers without the Office suite are marked on the screen). Some of the computers are equipped with special software and/or special hardware. Computers for special needs students are available at all our libraries in Linköping and Norrköping.
Campus Norrköping Library
Beyond the 22 publicly available computers at Campus Norrköping Library, there are also computers in the two classrooms on floor 4. You can use the computers in the classrooms if the rooms are not booked for teaching purposes.
One of the computers is designed to be used with the microfilm reader, and is bookable at the information desk. Computer headphones are available for loan at the information desk as well.
The Medical Library offers 31 computers for public use.
TV and DVD equipment is available for booking at the information desk.
At Valla Library there are 34 computers in different locations throughout the library.
There are two computers for microfilm reading, and they are bookable at the information desk.
A room equipped with TV and DVD is available for booking. Please ask at the information desk.
Students and employees log in with LiU-ID and LiU-ID password (on the AD domain) to get access to the computers.
Other library visitors log in as follows: your username is PUB\social security number (in the form YYMMDD-NNNN), and as password you use your library card number (14 digits starts with 205...).
Rules for computer use
The use of the University Library computers is subject to the Linköping University regulations for the use of computers:
- All use of internet computers requires personal login credentials.
- The use of computers is subject to SUNET’s ethical rules (in Swedish only).
- Breaking into or attempting to break into any of the University Library’s systems will be considered as sabotage and will be reported to the police.
If you are a student or employee, you can log on to the wireless networks used on the university, Eduroam and Netlogon.
