Publish and distribute
The choices you make when you are about to publish determine the distribution and impact of your work.
Publish and register at Linköping University
Linköping University Electronic Press (LiU E-Press) is the university's electronic publisher, focused on making LiU's research freely available. You can publish a wide range of full text publication types at LiU E-Press, including dissertations, theses, research articles, conference proceedings, longitudinal databases and series.
As a student at LiU, you can register and publish your thesis at LiU E-Press.
As a researcher at LiU, you can, among other things, publish your dissertation online via LiU E-Press.
Publish Open Access
Open Access and parallell publishing are important and growing ways of publishing, and can contribute to the dissemination of your work, and make it freely available at the same time. The majority of Swedish research funding agencies demand Open Access publishing of work they have funded. This can be accomplished through parallell publishing or "gold" Open Access publishing, which means immediate publishing in journals that don't require a subscription for readers to have access to articles. The research community is also beginning to understand the value of free accessibility to research data in digital archives.
Before publishing, it is important that you evaluate the journal you are planning to publish in. We have compiled the most important aspects to take into account.
Social media and networks for researchers
Social media are channels for communication on the web, for example blogs, microblogs, social networks and wikis. As a researcher, you can use social media and networks for professional purposes, to facilitate dissemination of publications and research findings. These tools can also help you to build networks and to monitor your research field.
Bibliometrics involves the quantitative study of academic publications, and measures, among other things, productivity and impact. Bibliometric analyses can also be used to visualize networking and subject interactions, and are used as a complement to peer review in evaluations of academic research.
The library delivers publishing statistics for LiU and helps institutions and research groups with bibliometric analyses.
If you are involved in organizing a conference, we can offer both an article submission and review-support system in order to aid the handle of incoming articles, peer reviewers and electronic publication of the final proceedings.
