We look forward seeing all new and returning students at the Library this semester. Here is all you need to know to get started using the Library’s resources and services.
LiU card=Library card
Your student LiU card also functions as a library card. At our self-service borrowing machines, you can use your LiU card to borrow books and renew your loans. The loan period for books is normally three weeks, but if there is a hold on the book when you borrow it, the loan period is reduced to one week.
You can return our material at any LiU library in Linköping or Norrköping regardless of where you borrowed it.
Study in the library
The libraries offer a wide variety of study seats, group activity rooms, silent reading rooms and computers, as well as the literature you need for your studies. Staff is on hand to answer your questions and assist you in finding information for your studies.
The library has copies of the books on your required reading list, both as home loan copies and as reference copies that must be returned on the same day you borrow it. Make sure you get hold of one in good time! For course textbooks there is usually a huge demand during semesters.
Printing and copying
The library has printers connected to the university printing system. To be able to print or copy, you will need a student printing account.
At the library web site you can renew your loans, place holds on books, get access to electronic journals and books, and databases. If you have questions about the library or its services, you are welcome to chat with us online, or phone us or email us.
