The services we provide for LiU researchers and teachers range all the way from scholarly material to personal support. We are there for you in all steps of the research process. Here is the information you need to get started using the library’s services.
Access to library resources
When you need a book, a journal, an article or a specific database, use UniSearch or the search box at www.bibl.liu.se to search a wide range of sources. Sign in via “My loans” to manage your loans and reservations. If you can’t find certain material within the library’s collection, place an interlibrary request. For LiU employees, all interlibrary loans within the Nordic countries are free of charge.
Our electronic resources can be accessed off-campus 24/7. Use your LiU-ID or our proxy bookmarklet to get access through the library website.
Turn to your subject librarian when you need assistance with information retrieval. We offer one-to-one consultation free of charge; you can find the “book a librarian” form at the library website. You are also welcome to book us for teaching activities in information seeking for students and personnel.
Publish and distribute
The choices you make when you are about to publish determine the distribution and impact of your work. We offer support at all stages of the publication process.
Linköping University Electronic Press (LiU E-Press) specializes in Open Access electronic publishing of PhD theses, books, and student theses, and helps you to parallel publish your articles in Digitala Vetenskapliga Arkivet (DiVA) for increased accessibility of your work.
On the library website, you can also find out how to maximize the dissemination of your work through social media. We can also offer you workshops and presentations about publishing, distribution and social media.
The library bibliometrics group supports the university administration, institutions, departments, and research groups with quantitative studies of publications and give presentations of bibliometric analyses. For more information, please contact email@example.com.
Apps and cloud services
There are a number of apps and cloud services useful to academics. A selection is presented at the library website.
Cite and refer
Using a reference management program during the writing process is the best option for fast and correct formatting of references and efficient document management. The library gives support to two such programs: Mendeley and EndNote.
Plagiarism and copyright
At the library website, you can find detailed information regarding plagiarism and copyright issues. You are also welcome to contact our expertise group on these matters with your questions. Plagiarism-check of high scientific level publications and theses can be done using CrossCheck which check against academic sources such as journal articles and the internet. For further details, contact Peter Berkesand.
If you have any questions regarding our services, don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
