Support for publishing in pure OA journals
As a LiU researcher with an article accepted to be published in a pure Open Access journal, you are eligible to be compensated for OA publishing fees by the library.
The national subscription agreement between the Bibsam consortium and the publisher Elsevier was terminated from 18/6/30. The two parties were not able to reach an agreement on pricing or how to achieve a working model for Open Science.
As a way of supporting the move towards Open Science, Linköping University Library will use funds saved due to the cancellation of the Elesvier deal to compensate LiU researchers when publishing in pure Open Access journals.
If you have a peer reviewed article accepted to be published in a pure OA journal, you are welcome to apply for compensation of publishing fees here: Apply for Open Access support.
What do we mean by “pure” Open Access?
The library will only compensate for publications in pure Open Access journals, i.e. journals that immediately make their articles freely available to readers. Compensation for publications in hybrid journals can be granted through deals with the publishers Taylor & Francis, Springer, the Institute of Physics and the Royal Society of Chemistry. For further information, see: Open Access.
Terms for support
- The journal you are publishing in must be a pure and serious Open Access journal. An easy way to find out if the journal you are publishing in is a pure OA journal, is by checking it in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
- Your peer reviewed article should be accepted by the journal, but the invoice must not have been paid.
- As "Corresponding author" you must have an active LiU-ID, an email address that ends with @liu.se and have specified "Linköping University" as part of your affiliation in the article.
- When the delegated funds have been depleted, this particular form of OA support ends.
If you have any questions or want us to come to your department for an information session, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
